Forging valuable local connections to support women and children escaping family or domestic violence in the Ballarat region.

Family and Domestic Violence is an issue in our community and now YOU have an opportunity to support our women and children in Ballarat.

The DV Collective’s mission is to support organisations who support women and children escaping and recovering from family violence. On a national level we tap into some of Australia’s largest organisations to provide funding, free products and services and volunteers to enable these family violence support services to help more women and children.

We are now launching the same concept but on a local level.

With national statistics at 1 in 4 women in Australia reporting to have experienced family and domestic violence, chances are someone you know will need and use these services.

Ballarat figures are 12% higher than the national average…

…and the reality is our grassroots organisations are struggling to meet demands.

The Project:

The DV Collective, in partnership with Ballarat Business Women, have launched Empowering our Community - Ballarat.

Our Goals :

Identify, promote and support existing Local Family and Domestic Violence Support Services.

Attract additional support resources into the region.

Build the capacity for these organisations to support more women and children in our community.

Empowering Our Community Ballarat will focus on:

Education and Engagement

Unless you’ve lived through it and needed assistance, chances are you won’t know much about family and domestic violence services in the Ballarat region.

Shining a spotlight on our local family and domestic violence services, the support they provide and how the community can access the service.

Highlighting the impact these services have in community and how we can build their capacity for the benefit of more women & children.

Empowering Our Community to support services through connections, fundraising, product drives and volunteering.

We’ll partner with our Business ‘buddies’ to bring more services to Ballarat to support existing services and women & children in need.
