Community Focus - The DV Collective

Back in September 2023 we met with Ballarat Business Women (BBW) to discuss the idea to roll out The DV Collective at a Community level.

With BBW’s support, we introduced the new initiative “Empowering Our Community - Ballarat” in October 2023.

We successfully interviewed and formed a volunteer committee of 14 people who have planned a launch event and future fundraising programs in the region to support our local domestic violence services supporting women and children in need.

Our Goal for Empowering Our Community:

• Identify, promote and support existing Local Domestic Violence Support Services

• Attract additional support resources into the region

• Build the capacity for these organisations to support more women and children in our community.

We’ll do this by engaging local business, community leaders, groups and the wider community. We will Empower them to take a stand against domestic violence through fundraising, donating and volunteering.

Our offical Launch event is on March 26, 2024.

We have had amazing feedback locally from DV services, and great support from local business and the Council to date.

Following the Launch fundraiser, we plan to have an additional 2 - 3 fundraisers each year foscusing on community impact.
